Salvete omnes! Latin class is unusual for a school to have and to require every student is even more rare. Probably the most common question I hear is: why Latin, why not some other language? Well there are many reasons, among them a better understanding of English grammar and vocabulary, a better understanding of how languages function, and, to quote Dr. Edward Zarrow, the 2016 American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages, "think critically, to act rationally, to argue persuasively, and so see themselves as part of a greater global community."
