My name is Claire Emery and I am a K-5 Literacy Specialist at Seven Hills Preparatory Academy.  I have a degree in Elementary Education from Drake University and a Masters in Reading from the University of St. Thomas.  I began working at SHPA in 2007 as a classroom teacher and am enjoying working with students in the area of reading.  Seven Hills is a great community of learners and I am proud to be a part of it.

My name is Nicole Peterson and I am so excited to serve as Literacy Specialist again at Seven Hills this year! I have been at Seven Hills since 2007. I have a degree in Elementary/Middle School Education from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and I received a Masters Degree in Literacy Education from Saint Mary's University. Seven Hills Preparatory Academy is a fabulous school and I am pleased to be a part of the talented staff!  




Ania Wrase

My name is Ania Wrase and I am a K-5 Literacy Specialist here at Seven Hills Preparatory Academy.   I am excited to start my third year here!   I received my elementary education degree at Mankato State University and my reading certification from Concordia University.  I began teaching in 1998 as a classroom teacher. Seven Hills Preparatory Academy is a wonderful school and I am honored to be a part of the staff.




The Literacy Specialists work with students in both small group and one-on-one settings to support students' reading development.  

The focus of the Literacy Specialist is the 5 Components of reading instruction: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Text Comprehension.

The Literacy Specialists utilize the Scholastic Guided Reading library, Words Their Way, and various assessments and interventions strategies to plan and deliver specific student need based instruction.
